This week’s photo challenge theme is Urban. On most days, this theme would have been a huge challenge, given that I live in a suburb in Texas. When the theme was announced, however, I was in New York to attend Alt NYC. I can’t think of a place I’d rather be to shoot this week’s challenge than downtown New York. Here are a few of the urban scenes I captured during my visit.

Now, this is a side of NY that I haven’t seen before. Beautiful shots.
I appreciate hearing that! Thank you!
Who could ever beat NYC?
Totally agree! Thanks for visiting.

Very nice–that first shot is amazing.
Thank you, Naomi!
Great shots! I Like the very first photo with great detail of the buildings along the street.
Thanks, Paul!

Love the first image, I like the way it just kind of fades into nothing as your eye goes up and deeper into the photo. I also like the simplicity of the last as well.
That first one is my favorite too. Thanks for visiting!
amazing photos!
Thanks, Crista!

I love the light in the first shot, it makes NYC look the way I would love to see ALL of it look, no scaffoldings and ugliness, just pretty brick streets and beautiful buildings! Great shot!
I know exactly what you mean. It was hard to find a street not covered in scaffolding …
Thank you!

Nice touch. I showed yet another side of our lovely city… That is what makes it unique; the beautiful and the ugly next to each other.
Thank you! I enjoyed seeing your view of NYC too!

Waah, why does everyone else get to live in/travel to New York. Waah!
I know the feeling. Until last weekend, I hadn’t been to NY in over 10 years!
