Summer Color Week: Day 4 (Red)
June 28, 2012 at 6:20 am | Posted in Design, photography | 3 CommentsTags: color, red, summer
I’ve really enjoyed selecting photos for the Summer Color Week, and I think it’s going to have a definite impact on my photography. This week has prompted me to go through my last year or so of photos and it’s made me realize that I don’t shoot images that focus on a single color very often. And, yet, in looking at everyone’s photos in the daily pool, it’s clear how much I love photos that prominently feature a single hue. Photos like this and this show me how much color can have such an impact on the mood of the image. Yes, I’m definitely sold on the power of color.

Great images – I love red, especially when it comes to clothing!
Did you buy those cute candy striped straws locally, or did you get them online? I would love to get some paper straws!

Thanks, Susan!
I bought the paper straws at Paper-Source in Dallas (local, but not exactly conveniently located). I’ve seen a lot of paper straws online at Etsy too. My kids love these straws – they call them candy canes.

Thanks, Julee! I probably won’t get to Dallas anytime soon, but I will be heading to Chicago in a couple of weeks for work, so I might try one of their Chicago locations!
Have a great weekend!
