Mud Island and Memphis

One of the highlights of our 4-day roadtrip was a stop in Memphis. We stayed downtown near Beale Street and spent the afternoon riding the trolley (or “the Charlie” in J+J speak) and then taking a monorail to Mud Island, a small penisula within the Mississippi River.  On the island is a large-scale replica of the Mississippi River that you can walk through. It started sprinkling just as we arrived and nearly everyone took cover, leaving Jason and Jenna with the river all to themselves. I think Jason must have had quite a bit of energy stored up after the 7-hour drive earlier in the day – that is one seriously high leap over the Mississippi.
