Jenna and Jackson
June 7, 2011 at 7:15 am | Posted in Children's Activities, DFW | Leave a commentJenna has been very focused on painting and drawing lately, so I decided to take her to a class at the Dallas Museum of Art. Entitled “Squiggle Dribble Splat,” the class focused on the work of Jackson Pollack. The children sat in the gallery and talked about color and lines, even using pieces of yarn to create their own Pollack-like action painting. Then they moved into the studio where the real action began. The children were given paint along with yarn, balls and toy cars to use in applying paint to paper. Jenna dabbled a bit with these devices before finding a more efficient way to apply paint to paper: her hands.
